I wasted so much time when I was young.
Wallowing in pity parties, holding on to negativity, because in the moment, it felt too real. I just couldn’t let joy win. I spent countless hours, arms crossed, huffin’, puffin’, and slammin things when frustration got the best of me. About halfway through my life, I got tired of me. I thought, there has to be a better way, Lord.
I didn’t want to get to the end of my life and wish I had chosen the better way.
So with prayer, discipline, and God’s good grace, I resolved to wake up and renew my mind in Him, replace those negative thoughts, and ignore my temporary emotions. They are always temporary. Now at 70, I’m not sittin’ around staring out a window groanin’ and rehearsin’ the list of everyone who ever offended me in my lifetime. People are gonna offend you sweetie, long as you breathe. That’s life. We have to choose how we respond to it. I’d rather spend my time rehearsing my gratitude, and rejoicing in my Gods goodness. So now, I just party with Jesus everyday and I’m having the time of my life.”
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. |2 Cor 10:5|
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. |Romans 12:2|
